An Easter Story

sunset maple - Sunday, March 14th.

Once upon a time (yesterday to be exact), "Daddy" and "Aunt Julie" took Danielle bowling. After that, Aunt Julie and Danielle went shopping for a new coat. Her winter coat is missing it's hood, so off to the girls' department to get a new one. The spring jackets were out, they had hoods and so they chose one, but Danielle's eyes kept wandering...to the Easter dresses! "Let's look over here", she said as she dashed over to them. Aunt Julie showed her pretty eyelet ones, polka-dotted ones, and Daffodil yellow ones. "Here is the one!", she said with glee. There it was! The chosen dress - slinky pink satin with a tulle (tool) tu-tu with sparkles on it. "oh"...said Aunt Julie, "but how about the pretty different colored polka-dotted ones or the pretty yellow ones?" "No-no...This is the one!", she said. "Okay Danielle, well let's get some tights." "How about black!" Danielle exclaimed. "Um", said Aunt Julie, "let's go with white or pink." "Okay." And then out of the other corner of her eyes, were the Easter hats! No plain hat for our "Fancy Nancy"! She chose one with flowers across the front and rhinestones in each flower. Outfit complete, and it was on to the ice cream shoppe for a chocolate chip ice cream cone! Then, on the way home, she asked to have the dress in the back seat by her. She took it out of the bag and hung it on the hook in the car. "Aunt Julie... I'm hugging my dress all the way home." the end

Don't you just love the zest for life kids have? I pray she never loses her sense of style. Long live the rhinestones!

What a great story, so happy and upbeat to read. Can't wait to see a photo of her in her finery. So fun to watch her grow up via your words here, April. Thanks for sharing your sweetie with us.I'll always remember her in her pink outfit walking through downtown Frankfort.....
