Collage class

In yesterday's class, I introduced matte medium transfers. I love the irregularities of them, just like a washy watercolor. The class is going to experiment next week. Here, the "A" and the sunglasses are done in that technique. Now that I have removed the taped borders, and it's almost done, I am still thinking about adding some stitching.

And this is just an idea in the making, continuing on with Audrey.

Looks nice April, but what's a matte medium transfer?

When doing these matte medium transfers, I put a nice coat of the medium on my collage and then applied the laser copy image onto the wet medium, smoothing it down. I let it dry overnight and then rubbed the paper off with a wet cloth. I did make sure I had all the surrounding area covered with medium before I did this, so that when I used the wet cloth, I wouldn't disturb anything else. And after I rubbed the paper away the next day, I applied a coat of medium over that image.
