A lunar halo

Searched for an answer to what I saw last night. This seems to fit.

"You probably saw a lunar halo. Hexagonal ice crystals high in cirrus clouds scatter moonlight to our eyes so a halo sometimes appears about the moon. "

Interesting.

Today "Henri" has an appointment at the groomer. His coat is quite unruly, looking like a poodle who wants to be a golden retriever. I am anxious for him, thinking he is not going to like this. They say to get him used to it early on though, and he is 5 months old now. Update later...
